To Pop

1. Turn on kettle heat, kettle motor, and light and warmer switch.

2. Fill kettle with pre-measured oil and allow to heat.  When oil has melted add
pre-measured popcorn to kettle.. If using glaze flavouring add it now. Close lid

3. When corn has popped, rotate the handle to empty popcorn from kettle; return kettle to upright position. Note do not wait for the last kernel to pop….the kettle with start to smoke… most kernels will pop in approx 2 minutes.   If using Glaze in the kettle, i.e. caramel same reasoning applies.  The glaze will tend to scorch so dump the kettle when the popping slows down..  Remember burnt popcorn will hurt sales…so dump the kettle ahead of time…..

4. Repeat the popping cycle; subsequent batches are always more flavorful than the initial batch.

5. Turn off the kettle heat switch on the final batch when the popcorn breaks over the lid of the kettle to eliminate smoke and odor.

6. Turn off kettle heat and kettle motor.

7. Wipe exterior of kettle with heavy cloth after cooling of kettle to prevent burn or stain of oil drippings.

8. Allow the kettle to cool before moving the unit.

9. When finished with the unit empty the remaining popcorn and kernel tray.  Wipe down inside and outside of glass with a soft cloth and warm water.  Do not use ammonia or any cleaning solvent on the glass or plastic parts.  It will damage pattern on the glass.  Just warm water and a soft cloth.

11. Back at the shop we will give it a good cleaning.  The renters responsibility is to the excess popcorn and kernels.
